Jim Houston took to the field in the AFL under 18s championships with the Allies, while squads from Hay and Balranald competed in the interleague netball games played last weekend.

Balranald Roos senior AFL team hosted Tyntynder at Greenham Park on Saturday, and held on to post a thrilling round four win.

Balranald Roos star Jydon Neagle has been named in the Weekly Times Country AFL Team of the Year. The talented Neagle was also named assistant coach, alongside country football legend and ex-Geelong player Garry Hocking.

Neagle was named at number 10 in the Weekly Times top 50 players of the year.
