Green Gold Australia’s Murrumbigee River Road solar farm approved by Hay Shire Council

The latest in renewable energy projects went before the July meeting of Hay Shire Council, where the development was approved.

Green Gold Energy is proposing a five-megawatt solar farm on the property of Cameron and Lyn Clark, on the Murrumbidgee River Road.

The development will comprise approximately 12,000 solar panels, mounted on single axis tracking arrays, along with one central inverter and eight battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Ground broken on first renewable project

Clean Peak Energy has officially commenced construction of its Hay Solar Farm, adjacent to Hay Cemetery, east of Hay township.

The advancement of the project was marked with an on-site sod turning, which brought together Clean Peak Energy executives and staff, Hay Shire Council and host landholders.

The development will boast around 10,000 solar photovoltaic panels which track the movement of the sun, and is expected to create 65 jobs during construction.
